Video Conferencing

 

Overview

From scheduling your course or event to on-site staff support during the event, OCIO helps faculty and staff execute successful video conferences for courses, collaboration, thesis defense, and other academic endeavors.

What's Included

Video conferencing service includes:

  • Consultation and project supervision
  • Support of established video conference rooms
  • Full scheduling support for room, staff, and connectivity
  • On-site staff support for all videoconferencing events
  • Supports H.323/IP (IP-Video) standards-based protocol
  • Access to several video conferencing rooms on campus

Optional Features

Portable Devices (laptops) are available to loan by faculty, staff and students. These laptops are equipped with an integrated webcam and Polycom PVX (H.323) video conferencing software to allow faculty, staff, and students to video conference from any location with sufficient networking.

Eligibility

OSU faculty and staff with appropriate department or college approval

How To Order

A minimum of two weeks notice prior to a live event is requested for proper evaluation and testing of required materials and resources.

Special Considerations

Skype, Google Talk, iChat, and other video chat/instant messaging applications use proprietary formats not compatible with the formats supported by the OCIO video conferencing equipment.
