Outbound Notification
Overview
Many OSU departments and colleges provide routine or special event notifications to their customers. In many cases, these notifications are sent by using existing staff resources.
OCIO offers a hosted outbound notification service that automates the outbound notification process, thus allowing you to utilize your staff resources for other tasks. This service provides you with both call and e-mail notification options. Call notifications can be automatically placed to campus, local and domestic long distance telephone numbers. This service is not intended for disaster notifications and, therefore, cannot be used for that purpose.

- A unique account, log in and password
- Web based adminstration for anytime, anywhere access to your account
Key features of this service include:
- Easy data exchange - manage data for information uploads and downloads needed to generate personalized event-based notifications.
- Message detection - send a voice message to a live recipient, or an alternate message to that person's voice mail or answering machine.
- Notification connection options - detects answering machines, line busy or unanswered lines
- Deliver notifications based on time zones- via phone, e-mail, pager
- Create unlimited numbers of contact groups and subgroups - organize contacts into functional, geographic or logical groups, with messages sent separately or simultaneously to one or all groups.
- Manage calling windows and create calling rules - increase "right party" contact rates.
- Recipient verification- enact call personalization processes to ensure the correct message is delivered to the correct person.
- Interactive notifications - Provide for two-way communications to collect data from message recipients utilizing multiple-choice, response-based questions.
- Track call listening times - Track how long a call recipient listens to the message being delivered.
- Maintain contact records- Add, remove and update contacts, even during a notification campaign.
- Real-time notification tracking - Track who has received the message, what contact channel was used, and who has yet to be contacted; broadcast history and message recipient participation reporting also are available, as is reporting for management-level analysis and audit trails.

- One-time Activation fee: $26.50
- Monthly fee: $116.15 per month
- Usage fee: $0.10 cents per minute (billed only for calls made) or $0.10 cents per e-mail sent
