Data Warehouse

 

Overview

The Data Warehouse is an evolving set of university data used for reporting, planning, and decision making. The data may contain information extracted from the Operational Data Store, campus operational systems, and external data sources.

What's Included

The OCIO provides the following as part of its Data Warehouse Services:

  • Regular data maintenance and updates
  • Manages role-based access to approved users
  • Ensures availability, quality and tuning of the data warehouses

Optional Features

The data warehouse provides the primary data marts focused on specific subjects:

Employee/Faculty Data Mart - provides one centralized data source for faculty, staff and student employee data, such as: compensation, demographics, employee transactions, external surveys, and reporting

Variety of specialized reports - including finance, HR, institutional data policy, procurement, SIS, and travel reports

Note: Data Marts should be used when you need to view history as it existed on a specific point in time or trends such as comparing past activity with present

Pricing

There is currently no charge for use of this service.

Eligibility

OSU faculty and staff with eReports access or appropriate approval from data steward (direct access)

How To Order

The data warehouses accommodates access through the eReports portal. eReports access may be restricted to certain users. For more information about eReports, visit: eReports ASSIST

The Data Warehouse also provides direct access through desktop tools like Hyperion, Microsoft Access, and Filemaker Pro. OSU department and college personnel requiring direct access must have prior approval from the respective data steward. Special Considerations
