Overview

OCIO offers OSU departments and colleges leased space in the OCIO campus data center for server equipment.

What's Included

Co-location service includes:

  • Tier I Data Center environment (per UPTime Institute)
  • 99% uptime (includes maintenance)
  • Generator/UPS
  • Utility-grade power
  • 24 x 7 access to data center
  • Fire suppression
  • HVAC (climate control)
  • Critical communication about data center activities (via listserv)
  • Conditioned power
  • Annual power check

Optional Features

Power can be purchased in 20, 30, 50 and 60 amperage circuits for the following voltages: 120 V, 208 V, and 208 V 3P. Refer to "Pricing" section for details.

Pricing

One time Charges

Initial set up of power at the current OCIO labor rate: $80 per hour

Recurring Charges

Raised Floor Space: $2.83 per square foot per month

Rack: $85.00 per rack per month

Power Pricing per circuit (Based on Power Needs to each rack):

  • 20 Amp Circuit (120 V): $30.00 per month
  • 30 Amp Circuit (120 V): $45.00 per month
  • 50 Amp Circuit (120 V): $75.00 per month
  • 60 Amp Circuit (120 V): $90.00 per month
  • 20 Amp Circuit (208 V): $60.00 per month
  • 30 Amp Circuit (208 V): $90.00 per month
  • 50 Amp Circuit (208V): $150.00 per month
  • 60 Amp Circuit (208 V): $180.00 per month
  • 20 Amp Circuit (208 V 3P): $90.00 per month
  • 30 Amp Circuit (208 V 3P): $135.00 per month
  • 50 Amp Circuit (208V 3P): $225.00 per month
  • 60 Amp Circuit (208 V 3P): $270.00 per month

Note: Pricing for network connectivity to the campus network (OSUNet) is not included in the pricing of this service. This service is currently operating at maximum capacity. Customer requests are not being accepted at this time.

Special Considerations

Customer Responsibilities

Customers of this service are responsible for the following: staffing, network connectivity (OSUNet), firewall management, insurance (equipment and information on equipment); provision of equipment specifications and rack diagrams; notification to Data Center personnel prior to bringing new equipment; staging equipment in designated staging area; following all established data center rules and regulations.

Other restrictions or limitations outlined in Data Center Terms & Conditions, provided to customers when moving into the OCIO data center.

Maintenance Window

Standard maintenance window for the OCIO data center is Sundays 12 AM – 6 AM
