How To Order

Carmen For Instructional Use: At least 6 weeks before the start of the quarter, blank course shells complete with a class roster and a set of course tools, are automatically created in Carmen for every course in the Registrar's Master Schedule. Instructors choose if and when to activate the shell for student access. To request an academic course shell before its scheduled creation, email: carmen@osu.edu with details about the quarter to be offered, department and course number. To learn more about activating a course shell, visit: Activate Course Shell.

Carmen For Other University Purposes: Carmen space is also available upon request for other University purposes, including hosting discussions or content for committees, research teams, or departments. To request space on Carmen, visit: Request Carmen Space

For information concerning request of optional services:

Special Considerations

Technical support for academic courses takes priority over Carmen space requests and support, especially during peak use times at the start and end of each quarter.

All users must have active OSU internet usernames (lastname.#) in order to access Carmen. However, faculty may request sponsored guest accounts for participants not affiliated with OSU. For more information, visit: Requesting Guest Accounts

In the interest of system and support resources, we reserve the right to determine if requests for Carmen space and use of the JOIN feature can be fulfilled.
