Focus Group Questions

  1. Ohio State aspires to be among the world’s truly great universities—advancing the well being of the people of Ohio and the global community through the creation and dissemination of knowledge. What enhancements to the OSU information technology environment are needed over the next three-five years in order to reach this vision?
  2. Of all the answers you gave, and heard others give to the first question, which is the most important and why?
  3. The academic plan calls for “providing faculty, staff and students with the latest technology tools for leadership in teaching, learning, research and career development…” Based on the work you do at Ohio State, what specific technology tools do you need?
  4. The academic plan calls for “providing improved state-of-the-art Information Technology capabilities to improve the quality of academic advising and other student support services.” What specific suggestions do you have for improving these areas with the use of technology? What do your peers share with you about other academic institutions?
  5. The academic plan states, “The university lags its benchmark institutions in the creation and dissemination of distributed/distance-learning programs.” In your opinion, what needs to be put in place for us to lead our benchmark institutions in this area?
