Off-campus E-mail and Internet Access

OSU Webmail
The Office of Information Technology maintains the central campus e-mail system. You can access your OSU e-mail via web from anywhere in the world at https://webmail.osu.edu. Webmail offers most of the functionality you expect from an e-mail client, including support for attachments, address books, and folders.

OSUWeb.net
This fee-based Internet dial-up service from UNITS is offered to faculty, students, and staff at Ohio State's Columbus, Newark, and Wooster campuses. It offers connectivity speeds up to 56 kbps, three rate plans, two of which provide subscribers with personal web space, and no setup or annual contract fees. Visit www.osuweb.net or call 292-8648 for details.

HomeNet
This no-charge 33.6 kbps dial-up service from OIT is being provided to the university community at gradually reduced service levels. Each year the modem pool size for HomeNet will be reevaluated, based on usage patterns and feedback from the community, and scaled back accordingly.

Commercial Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
Alternatives to OSU services for off-campus access to the Internet include dial-up and cable modems and DSL phone lines. Check the phone book for more information. Alternatively, faculty and staff can receive a $5 monthly discount with a cable and Internet bundle subscription through the WOW! Affinity Program agreement with Ohio State. For details, call 292-7100.
