Responsibilities:

  • Lead a talented and service-oriented staff in developing and implementing support programs that enable faculty to develop and deliver e-Learning across Ohio State campuses and at a distance.
  • Lead the Digital Union initiative, an incubator for institutional innovation, and a sandbox for the serious business of play with new media technologies and the social and intellectual structures needed to harness them.
  • Serve as a catalyst for the development and maintenance of a campus-wide e-Learning strategic plan.
  • Provide management, leadership, and professional development opportunities for centralized and decentralized educational technology staff.
  • Serve as a catalyst for the review and enhancement of academic policies and procedures that insure innovative and effective uses of e-Learning.
  • Represent the University on appropriate administrative councils, committees, task forces and ad hoc groups addressing e-Learning issues.
  • Maintain an active research and creative activity agenda in e-Learning and knowledge management.
  • Serve as an advocate for e-Learning needs nationally, regionally, locally and within the university's overall academic planning.
