Telephone, Cellular, and Cable TV Services
What telephone and cable TV services are provided in university residence halls or apartments?
If you sign a housing contract with Student Affairs for an undergraduate residence hall room or apartment on the Columbus campus, you automatically receive the following standard telephone and cable TV services through OIT:
- Local telephone service with a direct-dial telephone number, free campus and local calling capabilities, and 911 access to University Police
- Caller ID and call waiting
- Basic cable TV service with more than 70 channels
NOTE: Students provide their own telephone and television equipment.
If you sign a contract with Student Affairs to live in a graduate, professional, or family housing location on the Columbus campus, you will receive most of these standard services or have the option to order them. University-owned housing at Mansfield, Newark, and Wooster ATI regional campuses also offers similar telephone and cable TV services as part of their housing contracts. Visit units.osu.edu or call 614-688-HELP for more details.

A number of optional university services are also available if you live in campus housing including competitively priced long distance and OSU Wireless-Cellular. Visit units.osu.edu or call 614-688-HELP to learn more or order service.
What university services are available to me if I live at home or off campus?

OIT offers OSU Wireless-Cellular plans and phones, several long distance options, and dial-up Internet service (OSUWeb.net). Visit units.osu.edu or call 614-688-HELP to learn more.
