IT Training and Professional Development Opportunities
CIO and TELR Sponsored Professional Development Grants
eLearning Professional Development Grants support faculty for extending educational technology into their teaching or scholarly activities and instructional design and technology staff whose role it is to support faculty and students using educational technologies. IT Professional Development Grants assist technical staff involved in the use of information technologies in academic and support units. eLearning Expertise Grants for Collaborative Course Innovation
Expertise Grants are designed to promote innovation by supporting eLearning projects of interest to OSU faculty members. Faculty may apply to collaborate with TELR eLearning consultants, visual designers, and Digital Union staff to develop innovative courses or to integrate educational technology into teaching and research projects. The program can also provide small-scale matching funds. Visit telr.osu.edu/grants for additional information.
Carmen and eLearning Workshops
eLearning workshops are available to faculty, staff, and TAs interested in exploring pedagogical issues related to teaching with technology. Workshops include Engaging Students with Digital Resources, Library Content and Carmen, and Quality Matters. Sessions on Carmen tools and features are also available. Computing Short Courses
Sign up for noncredit courses on the Internet and web, computer basics, statistical applications, multimedia, and other topics. Classes fill quickly, so register early, preferably during the first two weeks of each quarter. Go to oit.osu.edu/compcourses.html for quarterly availability and to register online.
