In 2000, Ohio State and the Alumni Association began offering lifetime e-mail forwarding service to recent Ohio State graduates, members of the Alumni Association and emeritus faculty. Now, the service is available to all post 1989 graduates and alums of Ohio State as well.

Having a lifetime e-mail address means you never have to notify colleagues, friends, and family whenever you change Internet Service Providers, jobs, or other affiliations. The address is easy to remember and it keeps your connection to Ohio State alive. The service is free and the university will not sell your address to a third party.

This service is not yet available if you are a pre-1989 alumnus, currently employed or enrolled at OSU and already using your "osu.edu" or "ohio-state.edu" address domains. In addition, you are not eligible if you are a retiree (except emeritus) who did not graduate from Ohio State. However, you can have e-mail forwarded to an alternate ISP for a limited time by completing the online application form at oit.osu.edu/tsc/mail_forwarding.html.

To permanently retain your Ohio State e-mail address in the form name.#@osu.edu for forwarding to the Internet Service Provider of your choice, submit the online registration form at lefs.service.ohio-state.edu. Note that the service is only for forwarding e-mail. Therefore you must have another active e-mail account from a provider such as Yahoo, Hotmail or any other ISP, to which your mail is sent.
