Ohio State maintains an institutional membership in EDUCAUSE, which gives students, faculty, and staff at all of the campuses access to membership resources including ECAR publications. ECAR (Center for Applied Research) is a major initiative of EDUCAUSE established to help higher education leaders make better decisions about information technology.
Accessing online resources necessitates setting up a user profile, which you can accomplish in either of these ways:
- On the EDUCAUSE or the ECAR web site, click on the key icon in the upper right corner. If you've already created a profile, enter your EDUCAUSE username and password. If you don't have one, click on Create one now on the same screen and it will take you through the process. You will then be sent a password by e-mail, which may take up to 24 hours. The account you set up gives you access to all OSU EDUCAUSE membership resources including ECAR publications.
- If you already know of a specific document you'd like to view, you can link to its abstract, then click on the Adobe Acrobat icon at the end of the abstract. This brings up the same logon screen described in step 1, at which point, you can follow the same directions.
ECAR bulletins by TELR staff include:
- New Partnerships: Engaging Undergraduates in Research through Technology by Victoria Getis, Catherine Gynn, and Susan E. Metros
- Campus Learning Spaces: Investing in How Students Learn by Stephen Acker and Michael D. Miller (University of Michigan)
