2007 Achievements

Data Warehouse Initiative
Develop an enterprise data warehouse to maximize the use of currently available central data for reporting and planning purposes.

Since 2004

Developed a strategic plan for the Enterprise Data Warehouse; hired a program manager and additional staff for Course Analytics and collaboratively launched the Course Analytics Data Mart; completed Phase 1 of Faculty Analytics and began Phase 2; released Student Analytics; and consolidated and standardized the Operational Data Store and Data Warehouse web sites into a single point of entry that handles user access requests.

Since 2007

  • Implemented the Financial Data Warehouse, which included a purge of the Financial System database; moved Financial reports to the data warehouse, and made some small enhancements.

  • Initiated the Human Resources Data Warehouse Project and hired a project manager.

  • Completed development and unit testing on the Asset Management Data Warehouse and Purge Project and began quality assurance testing to validate the load process.

  • Began investigating architecture and process changes for the development and loading of the Data Warehouse so it can accommodate Human Resources and Student data within the nightly batch window.

  • Continued the ongoing exploration of synergies between the OSU:pro database of profiles of faculty and staff and Data Warehouse projects.
