| CIO Advisory Executive Committee | A small executive committee works with the CIO to confirm recommendations on ensuring its effectiveness regarding pertinent topics. The executive committee includes representation from Arts and Sciences Cluster, Business and Finance, Health Sciences Cluster, Human Resources, Libraries, Medical Center, Professional Cluster, Regional Campuses, Research, and Council on Libraries and IT Chair. |

| Anti Virus Site Licensed Software | This session provided an overview of the RFP development for the university Anti Virus Site Licensed Software, including accomplishments to date and time lines going forward. | |
| eLearning Strategy Committee | A faculty committee appointed by Provost Joe Alluto met beginning Fall Quarter '08 to develop a 5-year view of strategic priorities for eLearning. In this session, we reviewed the committee findings and seeked feedback about initial next steps. | |
| End-user Administrative Rights Regulations and Reshaping the MCSS | Recognizing the need for a uniform approach to end-user administrative rights, a group of faculty and IT support staff facilitated by CIO Security staff have formulated a preferred regulation that addresses this issue. The same group is also reformulating the Minimum Computing Security Standard (MCSS) seeking to retain the elements that enhance security while discarding those that are contradictory or that make compliance with the standard difficult. This breakout session focused on confirming the end-user administrative rights approach and identifying the top areas of concern regarding the MCSS. | |
| Local Support Readiness for the Student Information System (SIS) Implementation | As the Student Information System (SIS) is in its final wave of implementations, an increasing number of users will experience first use of the new system functionality and will look to local IT support for guidance to resources and help. This session covered upcoming roll-outs of system functionality, potential impacts to areas, availability of resources, and lessons learned from the April first use encounters. This session gathered input from the community on observed effects of the implementation. |
